It's Raining Newborns - Hallelujah

I can't believe I once had 2 tiny beings that were so tiny, you were almost afraid to breathe on them (now at almost 7 and almost 4, I'm lucky if I can get them to slow down long enough to catch a kiss blown from the palm of my hand).

There is something about that newborn smell that can make the biggest Grinch turn into a mushy, gushing, smiling mess.  A newborn baby just makes you smile - knowing that no matter what else is wrong in this world, that for this one moment, you hold hope and promise in the palm of your hands.

Mr Parker was no different than any other newborn I've had in front of my lens. Wholesome, curled up sleepy goodness, puckered lips and a desire to tuck him into my pocket to take home :) . Thank you so much Allison and Peder for letting me photograph the newest prince in your lives!

Off To See The Wizard

Yes, I feel like I have been in the land of Oz, somewhere over the rainbow and many times have I said to Even - " I don't think we're in Kansas anymore" LOL.  Seriously though, all humor aside, I just wanted to apologize that I've neglected my blog over the past couple of months!  There have been numerous things going on, deaths, illnesses, aches and pains, work work work, most importantly, family, my husband and my boys!  Add that all up and there aren't many hours left in the day! 

Hopefully I am now back on the right track, have put the toughest part behind me and am now moving forward into this beautiful spring season.  Spring is the time for re-birth and that is how I feel at the moment!  Being outside shooting again has certainly done alot for my spirits. I just LOVE being outdoors and the images produced by using nature as a backdrop just have that something special. 

Over the next week or so I'll be posting images from my latest photo shoots so stay tuned for some GORGEOUS babies, especially my first set of twins!

Spring is also the time for confirmations. Photo sessions for confirmants are the equivalent of a senior (siste år på vidergående skole) session in the US.  Session slots are filling up quickly - if you are interested in confirmation images that are unique, send an email so I can get you on the books!  I actually recommend doing your photoshoot on a different day than your confirmation. It allows us all to relax, we aren't dependent on the weather and you can change clothing, allowing you a large variety of images reflecting both traditional dress and your own budding personality.

Spring, especially early May, is also the time for hvitveis.

Thank You SO Much

I just wanted to stop by before I travel to the US in the morning and thank everyone for their prayers and condolences.   It really means alot to our family.   The support really has been overwhelming so I didn't want to leave before letting you know that each and everyone one of you help to make this more bearable.

Will be away for a couple of weeks

I got a phone call today that my father passed away unexpectedly.  I am frantically going through the ritual of trying to get home to the US as quickly as possible.  If you are a client wishing to book a session, please send an email and I will try and respond when I am able.  If you are an existing client waiting for proofs, I apologize for the delay.  I will be overseas for a minimum of 2 weeks. 

Jeg fikk beskjed at min far har gått brått borte fra oss i natten.  Jeg reiser til USA på fredag morgen og blir borte minst to uker.  For kundene som venter for prøvebildene på nett, jeg beklager ventetiden.  Jeg tar kontakt med en gang jeg kommer hjem til Norge.

I really do love newborns and 7 day old Max was no exception!   I think we lost a few pounds because of how warm we kept the shooting area although Max was all nice and cozy.  Congratulations Misha and Juraj - you are very blessed to have such a beautiful little boy! Thank you for letting me share the day with you (and thank you for the candy!).

Softly | newborn - 7 days

What a complete doll.  This is one of the cutest little ones I've ever seen. So sweet and tiny, it definitely made my heart skip a beat!  I love new babies. I've often wondered why they don't try to capture the scent of a newborn and bottle it up. I know it would make people more relaxed and happy...just think, Eau de Baby coming out of your wall plug in :) .

Hei alle sammen!  Vi gleder oss til 2009 og et nytt år!  Til å 'kick start' dette året, jeg søker 10 nyfødt barn til å fotografere. Bildene skal brukes i min portfolio, på websiden og i reklame materialer.  Fotograferingen er helt gratis. Jeg kommer til deg, eller dere kan komme til min hjemme studio.   Til å delta må du ha termin i januar eller februar. Til å sette navnet ditt på listen, send epost til lrostoen@bluezone.no - med FRESH FACES i emne felt.   Fotografering av barna MÅ SKJE innom det første 10 dager etter de er født (men helst i de første 7 dager).  De som delta få fotografering og et 30x30 (eller 25x30) av ditt favoritt bilde gratis.  De som ønsker å bestille flere bilder får en 20% rabatt på alle produktene.

Wishing You All The Best For 2009

Unbelievable how fast a year can fly by. You wake up on the 1st of January and think of all the time you have to do the things you want to do and then POOF, it's New Years Eve AGAIN and you wonder where the time went.

This year has been one heck of a year!  This was my first year in business and it has proved to be every bit as challenging and rewarding as I imagined.  I want to take the opportunity to thank all of my wonderful clients from 2008!  While your business and your decision to chose me as your photographer has meant alot, your wonderfully supportive emails, comments and satisfaction with your photographs have meant the world to me.  I strive to make each photography session as individual and creative as possible, and from your kind words to me, I've at least succeeded in this department! 

2009 is going to be a fun-filled and big year for us here at Fotografix Studios!  With the New Year comes resolutions and my biggest one is going to be my blog.  Blogging has become an integral part of my business, giving me a chance to showcase my newest sessions, but most importantly giving my clients a way of connecting with me on a more personal level by getting a glimpse of what goes on in the life of our studio!  So for 2009, I promise to update the blog more often! That should be one of my easiest resolutions, as I generally love to talk :) haha. (no comment mom :) )

We will be launching some absolutely FABULOUS and exciting new products in 2009.  All of the new items will be unique for the norwegian market and can only be purchased through Fotografix Studios.  You are going to go NUTS when you see some of our new albums and ways to showcase your small size photographs. (I know I did!)

We will also be launching some fun new programs, such as the Belly to Baby program, which gives you a way to capture those often forgotten moments of pregnancy and overlooked moments of your quickly changing brand new baby.  Stay tuned for details.

I went on a safari | f a m i l y

After my last session, I decided that santa needs to bring me a gps this christmas!  I printed and studied the directions from the internet, but Oslo being Oslo, the directions were somewhat iffy and the road signs non-existent :) I was halfway to Sweden before I called my client and said this CAN'T be right!

But, I did get there in the end and we had alot of fun!  Dina is 7 months, Gard 4 (and let me tell you, it helps to have boys of my own! We discussed the ins and outs of Wall-E and became fast friends :) ).  We had a great time and even though it was quite cold and VERY windy outside, we still did our outdoor shoot and BOY just look at how rich these pictures are!!

Tusen takk Tine, Wilhem, Gard og Dina - dere har en nydelig familie og jeg hadde det veldig koselig hos dere!  Håper dere er fornøyd med bildene!

Barnehage Bilder | preschool pictures

Hei alle sammen. Jeg tenkte å bare oppdaterer dere som har bestilt eller betalt for barnehage bilder. Tror at det har vært litt frem og tilbake :) .

Jeg har mottatt alle bestillinger og bildene er snart klare til å sende til printeren.  14 nov var bestillingsfrist.  Hvis du har ikke bestilt men ønsker  å bestille, vær så snill å sende meg ordren på epost med en gang! :)

Fakturaene har blitt sendt til de som ga meg epost addresser.  De andre får det i hyllene til barna.  Bildene blir klare til levering om ca 2 uker.

Jeg takke dere VELDIG for alle positive tilbakemeldinger.  Dette har vært noe nytt for alle sammen og jeg gleder meg allerede til neste år!  Jeg tar gjerne tilbakemeldinger også om hva du synes har fungert og ikke fungert i år...og hvordan du hadde ønsket det til neste år.
